About Us

Mission:

At the Allen D. McQueen Hope Community Center our mission is to serve the military people and their families, and our community by providing a place for military events, meetings, counseling, etc. and for family and community events such as weddings, bridal and baby showers, birthdays, car shows, etc.

mr mcqueenOriginal History:

The Allen D. McQueen Hope Community Center was originally the Prairie Park Baptist Church that started in 1981. Allen D. McQueen pastored at the church from 1991 to 2017. Richard Marshall, who was a member of the church from 1992 to Feb. 2020, developed a close friendship with Pastor McQueen until Pastor Allen’s passing in Feb 2019.

In Feb 2020, when the church members came to the hard decision to disband, Richard was among them helping to organize the sale of the church. One night he had the vision of buying the church and felt God was pulling in that direction of turning the building into a hope center to help serve veterans. In March 2020 Richard bought the building and dedicated it to his close friend and pastor naming it the Allen D. McQueen Hope Community Center.

A 27 year veteran of the Army National Guard, Richard had the vision of using the Allen D. McQueen Hope Center to help and serve fellow veterans and the community through various services and events.
